New Guest Announcements
Now the good news. We have replaced her with a fine actress - Suzie Plakson. Suzie Plakson is the only actress to appear as four different aliens in three different Star Trek series. She played the Vulcan Lt. Selar and Klingon K'Ehleyr in Star Trek: The Next Generation, a female Q in Star Trek: Voyager, and Tarah, the first female Andorian Star Trek: Enterprise.
We have a preliminary schedule up on the site. It is still preliminary and has not gone through our editor. There still may be some minor changes in the final schedule but this is very close to what the final one will be.
T-shirts Preorder
We are working with Kosmic Designs (http://kozmicdesigns.com/) to get a preorder for our new T-shirts. Please stay tuned to our web site for more information this week.
These T-shirts will have our new winged-panther by R Snare (http://ministan.deviantart.com/) on the front and on the back it will have a concert style list of our guests. If you saw the StellarCon T-shirts this past year, they will be like that.
We'll have an image of the shirt art soon.

Tina McSwain - Charlotte Area Paranormal Society (CAPS)
Here is her bio....
Tina McSwain
Founder & President of CAPS - Charlotte Area Paranormal Society
Tina serves as Lead Investigator and Historian of our group. She is a native Charlottean, and has been interested in the paranormal since reading Nancy Roberts ghost story books of the 1960's/1970's. Since childhood, she was somehow able to "just know" that a future event was about to happen and continued to become sensitive to the world around her. Her catalyst for studying the paranormal was her first encounter with a full blown apparition of a friend's grandmother. The ghost walked toward Tina, smiled, waved, and then turned around and disappeared. Soon after, Tina found and joined a number of Paranormal and Ghost Hunting groups over the years, serving in varying capacities, and continuing to learn. Wanting a more professional and research oriented group, Tina formed CAPS - Charlotte Area Paranormal Society in the Fall of 2005. Under her direction and leadership, CAPS continues to search out the unknown.
Founder of Charlotte Zombie Walk, Badger
We hope that we can organize a mini-zombie walk in the con, with people willing to be made up like zombies. We're working on getting an artist, forming a free zombie make up clinic and give everyone willing a chance to be a zombie.
Join us in our own zombie walk!.

Artist Alley at ConCarolinas
Are you a budding artist looking for a break? or a local seasoned professional? We are currently taking applications for our artist’s alley in the dealer’s room. We hope we can build upon this to have a full fledge art show if not next year, by the 2010 DSC. We need help from the art community to do so.
Please contact me at dealers@concarolinas.org for an application and table rates. We are only setting aside a limited number of tables for this cause so let us know pretty quickly. Also, if you are a good artist, and a pretty good face painter, this may a great opportunity to earn some extra money as well as selling your artwork. We are a family oriented con and we’ll have alot of young people there. What am I talking about, the old people will want stuff painted on thier face as well, who are we fooling? Janet

So far we have added 3 new guests for 2008...
Gail Martin, author of The Chronicles of The Necromancer fantasy adventure series. Book One: The Summoner (2007), Book Two: The Blood King (January 2008) and Book Three: The Dark Lady's Chosen (Tentative title, no date yet) are Martin’s debut fantasy novels.
Kim Harrison (special guest), author of DEAD WITCH WALKING, FIST FULL OF CHARMS, FOR A FEW DEMONS MORE, etc. I believe a few of these hit the NYT Bestseller lists. Anyway, she is very much nationally known.
