ConCarolinas, Inc
ConCarolinas the Convention is run by a non-profit organization called ConCarolinas, Inc. CC, Inc. was formed from the ashes of their parent organization, SECFI. Formed from various committee members from all regions of the Carolinas, CC Inc.'s mission is as follows:
MISSION STATEMENT (in Irv-ese)
It is the mission of this organization, to be an Educational Organization. It shall conduct panels, public discussions groups, lectures, forums, possibly radio, TV, and other media programs, art exhibits, musical performances, and other similar programs to educate the public on subjects useful to individuals and beneficial to the community in our area of coverage. It may also conduct courses of instruction by correspondence or the use of internet operations such as web sites, e-mailing lists, and the like, radio, or television.
(a) "Community" for this organization is defined, in general, as "all persons who share an interest."
(b) It is the mission of this organization, pursuant to other articles to be a Charitable Organization. It shall support education and/or science by donations, by providing existing institutions dedicated to these with outlets at our activities, and by other methods. Libraries and Space or other flight are especially to be assisted.
TRANSLATION
Basically, we are a convention organization whos goals are to put on the best speculative fiction, general sci-fi and multi-media convention in the Carolinas that we can, with the focus on community, education and social awareness of our demographic.
