Stephen Euin Cobb

Stephen Euin Cobb is an author, futurist, magazine writer and host of the award-winning podcast "The Future And You." He is also a game designer, artist, essayist, transhumanist, and is on the Advisory Board of the Lifeboat Foundation. Three years a columnist and contributing editor for Jim Baen's Universe Magazine, he has also become a regular contributor at Robot Magazine, H+ Magazine, Space and Time Magazine, as well as Grim Couture and Port Iris magazines.
As host of "The Future And You," a weekly podcast, he interviews authors, celebrities, researchers and "pioneers of the future" as to what growing trends they have already observed which are creating the future (both near and distant) that we are all going to live in. Having done the show for over five years he has interviewed almost three hundred people. Harry Turtledove, Ben Bova and Frederik Pohl have all been guests on his podcast; as have Greg Bear, David Brin, David B. Coe, Larry Niven, Joe Haldeman, Vernor Vinge, Kim Stanley Robinson, John Ringo, Mike Resnick, Nancy Kress, Spider Robinson, David Drake, Alan Dean Foster, Sarah A. Hoyt, Jay Lake, Eric Flint, Jerry Pournelle, Gregory Benford and Catherine Asaro. Other guests have included Rudi Hoffman (a cryonics insurance agent), Mike Treder (CEO of the Center for Responsible Nanotechnology), John R. Douglas (editor of Scifipedia from scifi.com), and Lionel Vogt (a TV battle-robot builder). Nanotech, biotech and artificial intelligence are popular topics on his show; as are robotics, cryonics, organlegging, exoplanets, computers wired into the human brain, global warming, genetic engineering of humans, faster than light travel, transhumanism, and the technology of living more-or-less forever.
Bones Burnt Black (Stephen`s most widely read SF novel) has been released as an audio book which may be downloaded for free.
He has invented several games, the most famous being "Death Stacks" for which there is an annual tournament held each summer in Charlotte, NC at the SF&F convention ConCarolinas.
His hobbies include astronomy (he has a 10.1 inch Dobsonian telescope), handwriting analysis and drawing in charcoal and pastels.
