Room Party Policy

So, you'd like to throw a room party?

Great! Room parties are a lot of fun for everyone. The Charlotte Hilton University Place requires all room parties be on the 3rd or 4th floor. If your room party is in a room not on the 3rd or 4th floor it will be shut down by the hotel.

Where can we put up signs for our room party?

You can put up flyers in the general con area and the elevator area as long as you use BLUE PAINTER'S TAPE. If you put up a flyer and do not use BLUE Painter's Tape AND you cause damage to the walls the hotel will charge you for the damage.

Please read our Room Party Guidelines:

1. Please let the ConCom know before the con that you will be hosting a room party. If we know we can make sure to tell the hotel to give you priority for a room on the 3rd or 4th floor.

2. No blasters! No blasters! Seriously, no live ammo weapons, knives, swords or otherwise potential lethal weapons. Certain types of alcohol may be considered a potentially lethal weapon.

3. You as the party host are responsible for obeying the City, State and Federal Laws. No drugs, no underage drinking.

4. If your party is private it is up to you to keep it that way. DON'T advertise it and then tell people at the door they aren't invited. That's not nice.

5. Do not let your party get out of control. If there are 100 people crammed into your room it is a fire hazard and the hotel security will shut you down (as well as possibly the fire marshal).

6. The person on record with the hotel is liable for any and all damage done to the hotel due to a room party. You break it, you pay for it.

7. Report any medical emergencies to the front desk immediately. AND call 911. Also have someone alert the Con Staff as there are people with First Responder credentials on staff.
